The FDA should hardly be anyone's definitive definer of what is safe and what is not safe.

The FDA is a corrupt organization whose approval of a drugs can be bought.

Because of the FDA'a questionable relationship with large pharmaceuticals firms, the FDA has defined too many pharmacetical drugs as safe.

Later the FDA has been forced to recall those same drugs only after scores of people died, and under pressure from other organizations.

Rezulin, Vytorin, fenphen and viox to name only a very few of the FDA approved drugs that have been documented to have killed millions of users of these drugs...some after only taking one tablet that caused complete liver failure.

The FDA is somewhat of a joke because they are so corrupt, lackadaisical, have shown numerous conflicts of interest issues regarding approvals of pharmaceutical firm drugs, and is known for favoring drugs produced by pharmaceutical firms due to those conflict of interests.

The fact is that sodium chlorite and chlorine dioxide have been used for years for water purification by the army and campers, with no adverse affects.

Citric acid is also used as a food additive in everything from fruit pies to beverages.

Here is a link that discusses citric acid.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citric_acid

Also, as mentioned in the below wikipedia link, a growing number of municipalities are using sodium chlorite to replace chlorine in water purification plants.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_chlorite

As mentioned at the link acidified sodium chlorite when broken down to Chlorine dioxide does not create trihalomethanes, as does chlorine ( a.k.a Sodium hypochlroite).

Trihalomethane is a gas know to be extremely harmful to the lungs.

In addition it is increasingly being used in place of chlorine and sodium bromide to keep pool water clean. Children ingest huge amounts of water when swimming in a pool, as well as absorb it through their skin. No deaths have been attributed to it.

I would hazard a guess that people who are turning gray, if this has in fact been verified, and if that is in fact due to the sodium chlorite, are not diluting this properly or they are buying a contaminated or industrial- grade product or they are having a unique adverse reaction, or they are not following the usage instructions properly.

If vomiting or diarrhea occurs as an initial herxheimer reaction caused by the die off of toxins. It is of course only common sense that one must rehydrate themselves by drinking water, juices or eating soups.

Also if the herxheimer lasts too long, stop using the acidified sodium chlorite, as you may be having a unique adverse or allergic reaction rather than a herxheimer reaction. Or, you may be using it improperly.

Here is a link describing the herxheimer reaction:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herxheimer_reaction

Here is a link excerpt:
-------------------------
The Herxheimer reaction (also known as Jarisch-Herxheimer or Herx) occurs when large quantities of toxins are released into the body as bacteria (typically spirochetes) die during antibiotic treatment.
----------------------

Peanuts can kill some individuals, and table salt used to excess can also kill, as well as too much aspirin which can cause an inability to clot blood.

As with almost anything including water, the dose makes the poison.

Here is a link to an article that discusses how FDA approved drugs kill people and why the FDA retaliates against whistle blowers, and why they seem to favor approving pharmaceutical drugs that later turn out to be extremely toxic to people.

http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/articles-health/25592
---------------
Link excerpt: Why do FDA political managers push for drug approval despite evidence of unacceptable risks?

It is no secret that those who do the bidding of drug companies while in public office often land in lucrative positions at those companies or lobbying firms that serve those companies when they enter the private sector.

Former FDA Commissioner Lester A. Crawford, who defended Vioxx despite evidence that the drug caused unacceptable risks of heart attack (resulting in an estimated 140,000 heart attacks and 60,000 deaths from heart attack), was hired by Policy Directions Inc. after he resigned (and after he pleaded guilty to making false statements to the government in not disclosing stock interests in FDA-regulated companies).
--------------------

Lastly the FDA is known to drag its feet on approving any helpful nutrient or substance that can not be patented and thus holds no profit potential.

A good example is vitamin D3.

The FDA for years, despite research to the contrary deemed doses higher than 200 I.U.s to be toxic. That recommendation is far too low.

The FDA for too long frightened unsavvy people away from using vitamin D3 supplements because they insisted D3 caused liver and kidney damage at higher doses.

It is now known, and commonly accepted by traditional doctors that elderly people who are vitamin D deficient may need anywhere between 5,000 and 10,000 i.u. daily. because as people age they no longer efficiently convert UV rays to vitamin D3 in the skin.

Also, a bolus of 50,000 i. u. is initially given to to D3 deficient people who show up in emergency rooms with chest pains.

Therefore, the question is how many people died because they followed the incorrect FDA recommendation, instead of doing their own research regarding the safety, efficacy, need, and benefits of taking higher doses of D3?

I do not know if MMS is a miracle supplement. I am simply discussing the toxicity of acidified sodium chlorite when properly diluted and taken as a few drops with adequate water or juice.

But I do know that the FDA does not have a sterling enough safety record to use them as the definitive word regarding the safety of any drug or supplement.

I also dislike when people spread unsupported misinformation.

The overwhelming evidence, is that used at proper dilutions sodium chlorite and it's breakdown product of chlorine dioxide is not toxic.

The fact is that the EPA has already approved chloride dioxide for purifying drinking water on a personal as well as municipal level

If people research sodium chlorite and read the entire summary of its use, they will see the it is already being used in municipal DRINKING water supplies, not just in industrial water supplies.

Dear all,

MMS aka chlorine dioxide when you mix it with citric acid is safe for oral use!

Here is a document which is not indexed by google so it's hard to find and a controlled clinical evaluations of chlorine dioxide, chlorite and chlorate in man was done back in 1982.

Look it up yourself. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1569027/pdf/envhper00463-0059.pdf

MMS is an isolate and after speaking with even Quantum Physicists and MDs and Naturopaths, it is also poison. People become so desperate that they don't order MMS and use with citrus, they drink pool shock.
I write this because I have seen some desperate people take this and their color for weeks is grey. Gut pain, Diarrhea, Dehydration.
It is used in industrial water systems, clue "Industrial Water" not to clarify drinking water.
The FDA is now taking this off the market just google MMS and the FDA,
too many claims being made for all diseases and no one knows the long term hazards. Excessive long term dehydration causes so many electrolyte imbalances and other problems.
Be Safe, Don't Drink Pool Shock

Hello, please first read this FDA web page, wherein the FDA finally describes MMS as an industrial bleach. Not something I'd recommend consuming. Please BE CAREFUL with "fad cures" and "miracles". Penicillin is a miracle drug. Consuming bleach is not. Sure, studies from various government studies have approved MMS as a surface cleaner... it's BLEACH!

Hi all:

Sodium chlorite is the same chemical that has been used by water purification plants as of 2001 , and has been long used by campers to purify water

Sodium chlorite generates, Chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide is not same as sodium hypochlorite which is commonly uses as household bleach. It is similar but not the same as common household bleach.

If sodium chlorite were toxic in small dosages, large numbers of city dweller who drink their faucet water, as well as bath in it, would be dropping like flies.

-----
Here is a description of laundry bleach A.K.A. sodium hypochlorite:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_hypochlorite
------------

-----------------------
This is a link to sodium chlorite:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_chlorite

Link excerpt: In a few municipal water treatment plants after conversion to chlorine dioxide. An advantage in this application, as compared to the more commonly used chlorine, is that trihalomethanes (such as chloroform) are not produced from organic contaminants.

Sodium chlorite, NaClO2, sometimes in combination with zinc chloride, also finds application as a component in therapeutic rinses, mouthwashes,[1][2] toothpastes and gels, mouth sprays,[3] as a teat dip for control of mastitis in dairy cattle,[4] and also in contact lens cleaning solution under the trade name purite.

Under the brand name Oxine it is used for sanitizing air ducts and HVAC/R systems and animal containment areas (walls, floors, and other surfaces).
--------------------------
Yes, large quantities may be toxic, but so is too much water. Drinking too much water can also be fatal.

Here is a link to a water intoxication article:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/146397/water_intoxication_how_much_water_is.html
------------------------

If you are going to try this product please ensure that you buy from a source that sells legitimate sodium chlorite, not sourced from China.

Also, please be sure to dilute it to the proper dilution.

In addition, start at a low dose, and work your way up. Do not start with the largest described diluted dosage.

lastly, if you do get sick, stop using it or cut back the dose, or seek an alternative doctor to guide MMS usage.

There is always the possibility that some people due to unique biochemistry will have an adverse or allergic reaction.

Hi,
I just wanted to add to the last post to buy all herbal supplements at a natural foods store and avoid drug stores and places like Walmart and Target. Health food stores will sell organic or wild-crafted herbs harvested at peak time so that you will get the maxium benefit. Drug stores and others may have irradiated the herbs to extend shelf life, but that also renders the herbs dead and useless to the body.

Hi, I haven't tried the MMS yet, but I did want to post a comment about Hep C. I have known many people with it and very few have been cured by interferon treatment. In fact, the two people who tested negative after the interferon, tested positive again a year later! What I have seen work is an herbal combination. It doesn't rid the body of Hep C, but it WILL return liver enzymes to normal levels - so you'll never develop cirrhosis of the liver. The four herbs are Milk Thistle (standardized to 80% silymarin), Burdock, Yellow Doc, and Dandelion. Alfalfa tablets are a good addition, but not necessary. Take them in capsule form as directed on the bottle. (So if the bottle says one capsule 3x a day - that's what you take). These have worked for my husband, my father (who came up with this formula), and several friends. A friend of a friend said he owed us his life. His insurance wouldn't cover the interferon and the doctor didn't know what else to do with him. Out of desperation, he called our mutual friend and asked her what it was she took and she told him. At his next doctors visit his liver enzymes were normal.
